Our Meeting House

Like Friends' Meeting Houses everywhere, the La Jolla Friends Meeting House is modest in structure. Join us after Meeting for Worship as we share food and fellowship in the cottage behind the Meeting House.

Located in the heart of
a La Jolla residential neighborhood, our Meeting House is 'mostly' wheelchair accessible. There are ramps to every door. However, there are no automatic door openers. We will be happy to provide assistance with this.

We welcome and encourage everyone to worship with us - regardless of age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or gender. Equality and Community are two of our oldest testimonies - thus, La Jolla Meeting, on any First Day (Sunday), has a variety in attendance. You will also find first time visitors, long time attenders, new members, seasoned long-time members. This mix is characteristic of a healthy meeting and, in a healthy meeting, categories shift and change as a matter of course. Visitors become attenders. Attenders begin to take part in the meeting. Seasoned attenders, sometimes encouraged by members, apply for membership. Please join us... we promise to share our "language" and what it means to be an "attender" or to "season" something. No mysteries here - just people who care about one another and believe in community.

A man who was completely innocent, offered himself as a sacrifice for the good of others, including his enemies,
and became the ransom of the world. It was a perfect act. â€”Mohandas Gandhi
