Children's Religious Education
We invite families to come join us for First Day School and Worship.
The La Jolla Monthly Meeting provides a First Day School program from 10:00 – 11:00 each Sunday for infants to teens. During the school year children and teens join the adults in Meeting for Worship at 10:45. During the summer months children and teens attend Meeting for Worship for the first 15 minutes from 10:00 – 10:15 then go to their classroom.
Pre-School/Lower Elementary Room – Loving childcare is provided for infants and young children in our pre–school room.
Elementary/Middle School Room – Teachers guide children in a variety of fun crafts and activities through a compassion based curriculum grounded in the Quaker testimonies.
Teens/Library – In addition to gathering on First Days for bonding, support, reflection, and experiencing Quakerism in action, the teens do a variety of activities outside of First Day.
Parents – You are welcome to drop in and lend a helping hand in either classroom if you'd like or drop off your children in the age appropriate classroom so you can be nourished by Meeting for Worship. We ask parents to complete an annual registration form for all children.
If you have any questions, please contact the Children's Religious Education committee clerk.
Enjoying Painting Signs
First Day School - March 2014
We enjoyed creating and painting our own signs to take home or share on our newly painted back fence.
